Tasman Marine owners Christine and Lee Drummond purchased the business in Feb 2007, Lee having spent the previous 5 years managing the local branch of an Industrial Services company, Christine having dry stock farmed and raised two children, Jared (Otago Universtiy, 2nd year) and Brooke (Scared Heart Girls College, year 13).

The oppatunity to be involved in the marine enviroment that "they" both love and work together for themselves, lead to the purchase and 1st days trading on Feb 1st 2007.

Assited by Lee's father Roger, who provides many years knowledge of the local fishing / boating / retailing. The re-organisation and restocking of the chandlery shop and the complete lining and re-organisation of the entire workshop, including the boat storage yard has been completed within the first six months of trading.

August 2007 KiwiKraft boats have included Tasman Marine as their Taranaki dealer, stocking their excellant range of aluminium pontoon boats. 

April 2008, with the purchase of Magon Marine, Yamaha Engines and Fi-Glass boats have been added to the range of products in stock.

Honda Marine has joined included Tasman Marine as their local service providers.

May 2009 Extreme Boats, Whaktane have joined the team at Tasman Marine with their range of multi award winning aluminium boats. The range from 4.6m to 7.5m are designed by Scott Robson and through a committment to continious improvement the boats have developed into the range that is avaiable today.
